Ahead of the “The Walking Dead” Season 7 premiere, Variety can reveal six exclusive photos of Carol Peletier and Sasha Williams.
The dramatic stills show the main characters prepared for battle. Carol stands filtered in black and white clenching a small knife in her hand. The two are also featured in headshots filtered in a red glow.
The 16-episode season of “The Walking Dead” will be split into two parts: The first eight episodes will air in the fall, and the second half will debut in February, 2017.
At the end Season 6 the two found themselves in very different predicaments. After Carol wandered off on her own and was found again by Morgan the two were discovered by soldiers from a community called The Kingdom and were taken. Sasha, perhaps drawing the shorter straw, was last seen on her knees with the rest of the heavy-hitters from the Alexandria community while Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) played eenie-meenie-miney-mo to decide who to bludgeon to death with his cherished baseball bat Lucille.
In the first half of Season 7, the group is fractured, picking up the pieces from where they left off while living under oppressive conditions. Negan brutally convinces them to live by his rules. The official trailer for the seventh season of “The Walking Dead” premiered at San Diego Comic-Con.
