Emma Stone Could Be a Jeopardy! Contestant in a Heartbeat, Says Host Ken Jennings;

Emma Stone‘s quest to compete on “Jeopardy!” got a promising update courtesy of the game show’s host Ken Jennings, who said during an interview on “Live With Kelly and Mark” that the “La La Land” Oscar winner would be welcomed on the game show “in a heartbeat.” Now it’s your move, Stone.

During an appearance on Variety’s “Awards Circuit” podcast earlier this month, Stone went viral for revealing she is a “Jeopardy!” junkie and applies to be a contestant on the game show every year.

“I apply every June,” Stone said. “I don’t want to go on ‘Celebrity Jeopardy.’ I want to earn my stripes. You can only take the test once a year with your email address, and I’ve never gotten on the show. I watch it every single night and I mark down how many answers I get right. I swear, I could go on ‘Jeopardy.’”

Jennings was asked about Stone’s desire to compete, and responded: “I really admire the celebrities for putting themselves out there, because I think people think it’s going to be like the ‘SNL’ sketch, and it’s gonna be remedial-level ‘Jeopardy!’ No, this is legit ‘Jeopardy!’ that we make these stars play, and they are really good sports.”

“She doesn’t want to be on ‘Celebrity,’ she wants to be on real, original recipe ‘Jeopardy!'” Jennings added. “And that’s a hard show. We would take her in a heartbeat.”

Stone has been making the press rounds on the Oscar campaign trail for Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things,” which is expected to earn multiple Oscar nominations. Stone recently won the best actress prize at the Critics Choice Awards. Her next movie will be another Lanthimos film, “Kinds of Kindness,” which also stars Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qualley and Hong Chau.

“It’s kind of a triptych film,” she teased. “It’s an anthology, with three short films, with a core seven actors and we’re each playing a different character in each story.”
